Dance Theatre Southwest offers a full scope of classes in ballet, partnering, jazz,
modern, tap, stretch & strength, and creative movement for kids. Ages 3 through adult, with boys always
1/2 off tuition, providing a nationally recognized professional faculty. Call for information

We have already received national recognition as a school of great quality and integrity. We look forward to making this year a very exciting and positive experience. Our policies are intended to ensure that every student receives quality dance education, an opportunity to advance, and support in acquiring the disciplines so vital to the success of personal achievement. Every effort is made to treat each student as an individual, and placement in classes is determined according to each student's ability. DTSW has always been on the cutting edge of dance in the southwest, including hosting the increasingly popular annual New Mexico Dance Festival. DTSW is proud to be home to the New Mexico Ballet Company. Curriculum Our faculty are well-educated, highly trained professionals in the art of dance, and each instructor has the patience and enthusiasm required to make dance a HAPPY experience. Each student discovers a new confidence in her/himself in a healthy, nurturing, and fun environment.
Please note that the ages listed above are “suggested” ages. Class placement is ultimately determined by experience and training. Goals Our goal at Dance Theatre Southwest, Inc. is to provide an awareness and appreciation of dance through the development of sound dance technique. Every student, whether adult or child, has an individual measure of talent. To ensure that this does not detract from the satisfaction and confidence of reaching different goals in the many areas of dance, students are placed in classes by age and past dance experience, finding the class most comfortable for the student's clear path to progress. Advances in placement are determined by audition and/or teacher recommendation. "Challenge" classes are available to motivated and prepared students, in which they may participate in a next level class if they are taking all classes at their current level (with permission only).
