Watch Days
We encourage parents to follow their dancer's progress throughout the year. Two watch days per semester allow parents to actually "sit in" on classes. We will notify you of the dates in advance, so you may place this rewarding event on your calendar. These weeks are the last week of October, December, the week before spring break, and the last week of May.

Annual Performance
This end-of-year concert allows students a chance to display their accomplishments and experience performing on stage or with their class in the studio. This is an integral part of their dance training and it's a lot of fun! It is not mandatory to be in the Annual Performance, but it is an invaluable and rewarding experience which we highly recommend. The performance is a wonderful opportunity for the young dancer to build confidence and gain new skills. Working together with other dancers and with the technical support staff to create a true dance performance is an essential part of a dancer's pre-professional experience.

Other Performances
Dance Theatre Southwest, Inc., sponsors the annual New Mexico Dance Festival at the KiMo Theater, and older dancers of DTSW, Inc., are invited to perform. We also perform in schools, senior citizen homes, shelters for the homeless, and outdoor festivals. Please call for information about scheduling a performance.

Patricia Dickinson is Artistic Director New Mexico Ballet Company. Admittance to the company is by audition only. Ages 8 and up are eligible to audition. Ask for details.

For schools (ages pre-school through middle school), Patricia and dancers perform a special "History of Dance," complete with a 7-page packet for the teacher. Talk to her about coming to your school. This performance is partially funded by the City of Albuquerque Urban Enhancement Trust Fund and support from the New Mexico Ballet Company.

Tuition
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month, including the months that begin with an observed holiday. After the 5th, a $10.00 late fee will be charged. A $25.00 fee will apply for any returned checks. Absences should be made up within 4 weeks. WE DO NOT PRORATE FOR MISSED CLASSES DUE TO ILLNESS / FAMILY VACATIONS / OUTSIDE PERFORMANCES/MASTER CLASSES. NO REFUNDS.

Should you decide to discontinue instruction at DTSW, Inc., we must be NOTIFIED IN WRITING 2 weeks in advance or we will continue to bill you for tuition which you are responsible to pay. The registration form you sign upon enrollment is a legal binding agreement between the signer and DTSW, Inc. Should you decide to re-enroll, a $20.00 re-registration fee will be charged.

Holidays

Some months have more weeks than others. These "free" classes are considered make-ups for holidays.

"Footnotes"
A regular newsletter is sent home to keep you up to date on such events as master classes with guest teachers. (This happens frequently with the array of nationally and internationally well-known dance faculty at DTSW having friends from "all over" coming to visit!) We'd like to include special honors, awards, or events of the students also, so please let us know in writing! And of course, the dreaded deadlines for fees and tuition will be included as a gentle nudge reminder. Give Benigna any information you would like to have included. Please pick up your "Footnotes" at the beginning of each month from the FOOTNOTES NOTEBOOK on the front desk.
